Asamiya is located on the prefectural border between Kyoto Prefecture and Shiga Prefecture, at an altitude over 350 meters, and is famous as one of Japan's five major tea producing areas, with a tradition that goes back over 1,200 years since the birth of Japanese Tea. The property is located in a neighborhood where you can enjoy the view of the fresh green tea plantations that extend into the nearby mountains. It is a magnificent Kominka with a prestigious Nagaya-mon gate at the entrance. Kura (storehouse) and other outbuildings have been well maintained and are in good condition, retaining the charm of the past. It is accessible to go to Kyoto or Osaka by car.
