Asamogawa Ryokan
Kyotango City, Kyoto Pref.
This traditional-style ryokan, “Umeya,” has been in operation since its construction in 1990 and comes with a separate residential building built in 1952. The ryokan’s exterior walls were fully renovated in 2024 and are in excellent condition. Inside, you’ll find six tatami guest rooms and two banquet halls. While the baths are not hot springs, the ocean views from the windows are truly stunning. The residential building can continue to be used as a private home or converted into additional guest rooms to expand the ryokan. Located in Amino Town in northern Kyoto Prefecture, the property enjoys a rare seaside location facing the Sea of Japan, offering exceptional ocean views and convenient beach access. The popular hot spring town of Kinosaki Onsen is nearby, and central Kyoto is about a two-hour drive away.
