Atsue Kominka
Yosagun, Kyoto Pref.
A Kominka in northern part of Kyoto prefecture built in 1928 that used to be a weaving mill for the "Tango chirimen", a type of plain-woven silk crêpe that has been been supporting Japan’s kimono culture for over 300 years. Tango region (including the town of Yosano) is still one of Japan’s greatest silk producing areas, covering over 60% of the production for kimono fabric today. From the property, you also have the view of the Ōeyama mountain range that extends across the municipalities of Fukuchiyama, Yosano, Miyazu and Maizuru. Full scale renovation is recommended for this property.
